Known as the “ship of the captain cat”, in 1945 a coaster cast off on a stormy day and spent several hours sailing from one side to the other in the Bergantiños estuary until it ran aground “cleanly” on a sandbank.To everyone’s surprise, there was only one cat inside: the cat captain of the ship.
WHAT TO DO:
A visit to the Insua Cove in Cabana de Bergantiños (O Couto – Ponteceso). The sand is piled up in a large set of dunes almost 2 km long and 400 meters wide on average. 40 minutes from LiresCa.
